Explore:  Other people's stories can have a big impact on our lives.  I have been really inspired by the life of Mother Theresa and how she persevered under great trials.  I am amazed by the courage of my own Father's family who migrated to Australia in the '50s and had to live in a chicken shed until they found work.  I am in awe of the life of my Filipino pastor friends who choose to proclaim the Good News rather than find lives that are secure and comfortable.  When you listen to someone else's story it is a huge privilege to be invited into that journey. It can have a powerful impact on how you live your life and face challenges.

Application:  The Israelites, after rebuilding Jerusalem, were encouraged at the story of their ancestors.  There are numerous times throughout the Bible that we see the faithfulness of God to the Israelites retold.  This story brought so much hope to the people and a desire to reconnect with God. 
Today we must continue to retell the story of God's faithfulness.  It could be a retelling of the Israelites story, or it may even be a story of our own experience of God fulfilling His promises to us.  A story can be a powerful way of communicating our faith.  Jesus used hundreds of stories to explain God.  Let's not shy away from sharing our own stories and listening to the story of others.

Prayer:  Lord, we can see throughout history that you are a faithful God.  Give us the courage to share our own story and add to your history.  Amen.
